FAQs

How long after purchase can I expect delivery?

The total timeline is typically 16 weeks from the final contract signing. This timeframe is dictated by the custom engineering and logistics required for a high-performance, marine-grade platform, and is broken down as follows:

Design & Engineering Finalization: 2–3 weeks (Includes finalizing court specifications, branding, and color schemes).

Manufacturing & Quality Control: 4-6 weeks (Custom fabrication of the marine-grade inflatable structure and proprietary stability components).

Shipping & Final Delivery: Approximately 2 weeks for delivery by air and approximately 45-60 days by sea. (Varies based on destination, customs, and freight method).

Note: For large-scale event activations, we recommend scheduling delivery at least four months in advance to ensure all site preparations and permitting are complete.

How is the court attached to the shore?

Our attachment method is customized for each installation. The install depends entirely on the client’s shoreline and intended use (e.g., permanent resort amenity vs. temporary event activation). We utilize robust, marine-grade systems designed for maximum stability:

Shore Connection (Access): This is typically managed via a custom-designed hinged stiff-arm ramp or gangway that connects the court to a fixed point on the shore (a deck, pier, or concrete pad). This system allows the platform to safely rise and fall with water levels while preventing lateral movement.

How far away from shore can the court be?

The distance is determined by two main factors: Accessibility and Local Regulation.

Accessibility & Stability: The most common setup is within 50–100 feet of the shore. This allows for convenient access via a longer gangway and provides the best stability when stiff-arm connection methods are utilized. We also manufacture floating platforms that are a great way for all aged people to safely and securely access the court.

Local Regulation: Before purchasing an Offshore Court, we suggest that you contact your local municipality for local regulations and permit requirements.

Can Offshore Courts be used in both salt water & fresh water?

Yes, absolutely. Offshore Courts platforms are engineered using high-performance, marine-grade materials designed for maximum resilience in both environments.

Salt Water: All anchoring components, connections, and structural fittings are made from A-grade stainless steel and specialized corrosion-resistant alloys. The platform material itself (typically commercial-grade Drop-Stitch PVC) is highly resistant to saltwater degradation and UV exposure.

Fresh Water: The courts perform perfectly in freshwater lakes and rivers. Routine maintenance in both environments is recommended to clear biological growth (algae, barnacles in saltwater) to maintain the pristine playing surface.

What are the logistics related to install / removal?

While Offshore Courts requires professional initial setup, the process is designed to be streamlined for seasonal use:

Installation: Installation typically requires a small team (6-8 people) and specialized equipment (e.g., a small barge or workboat for anchor placement, and high-volume electric pumps).  Once the anchoring system is set, the inflatable structure can be fully inflated and secured within a single full workday for a standard-sized pickleball court.

Removal: Seasonal removal involves deflating the platform and disconnecting the shoreline access ramp or floating platform. The entire structure can be compactly folded and securely stored. The heavy, permanent anchoring system can be left in place year-round for easy re-deployment the following season, significantly reducing future setup time and expense.

What happens in extreme weather situations?

The safety and longevity of the platform in harsh conditions are paramount.

Operational Thresholds: Courts are designed to withstand normal recreational conditions, including wind gusts up to 20mph and minor chop. Play should be suspended if wave action or sustained wind speeds compromise player safety or competitive integrity.

Severe Weather: In the event of forecasted severe weather (high winds and large waves), the proprietary  hinged wall system is able to be collapsed by 3 trained individuals within approximately 20 minutes.  If extremely severe weather (i.e a hurricane) is forecast, the modular court must be deflated and removed from the water.

How do Offshore Courts compare to the feel and play of land-based courts?

Achieving true, competitive performance on a floating surface requires specialized, patent-pending engineering. We combine three key technological features to eliminate wobble, provide consistent ball rebound, and ensure player stability:

High-Pressure Drop-Stitch Construction: Unlike standard inflatables, our 30 cm platforms use commercial-grade high-pressure drop-stitch PVC. This material utilizes millions of internal threads connecting the top and bottom surfaces, allowing the platform to be inflated to an extremely high PSI (pounds per square inch). This creates a rock-hard, virtually non-flexing surface that is critical for predictable ball bounce, similar to a traditional hard court.

Active Mooring Array (AMA): The stability is finalized by our precise anchoring method. Our Active Mooring Array uses a symmetrical grid of tensioned cables anchored beneath the water, often in conjunction with stiff-arm shore connections. This array is engineered to prevent lateral sway and torque, locking the platform into a fixed position and creating the rigid, predictable play environment necessary for competitive sports like Pickleball and Futsal.

Can the courts be customized?

Customization is a cornerstone of our service. Offshore Courts are designed as premium experiential assets, meaning nearly all aspects can be tailored:

Size & Shape: While standard dimensions are designed to match competitive Pickleball and Futsal, custom sizes and multi-court configurations are available to fit unique waterspaces.

Branding & Color: Platforms can be manufactured in specific PMS colors. Logos can be applied as permanent heat-bonded vinyl graphics or as non-permanent, interchangeable event-specific decals.

Accessories: We offer a range of integrated marine-grade accessories, including LED perimeter lighting for night play, modular spectator seating, integrated netting systems, security fencing, and branding towers for sponsor visibility.
